#28 LONGBOARD CLASSIC STUBEN

3. APRIL 2027 STUBEN AM ARLBERG

RIDE WITH FRIENDS

Heilung? Keine in Sicht.

Weniger Rennstress. Mehr Zeit am Berg. Weniger Ego.

RIDE WITH FRIENDS

For nearly 50 years, the “snowsurfing” bug has had me firmly in its grip. A cure? None in sight. And for almost half that time—namely, for an incredible 28 years—I’ve been organizing the Longboard Classic in Stuben with my family and friends. With everything that goes along with it: passion, organization, responsibility, and financial pressure.

After the last LBC in April 2026, I took some time to reflect, think things through, and discuss them with my team. And it became clear to me: I want to take the Longboard Classic back to the event’s original spirit.

That’s why we’re putting a little more focus back on what it’s really all about: riding together, meeting friends, telling stories, experiencing new adventures—and celebrating together. Less racing stress. More time on the mountain. Less ego. More togetherness. And above all: more fun.

The Longboard Classic remains the Woodstock of snowboarding. An event where people from all over the world come together to celebrate the spirit of snowboarding. A gathering of people united by their love of snowboarding—some of whom travel long distances just to meet old and new friends.

The race? The rankings? They were never the main focus and now take a back seat.
So what does that mean exactly? In 2027, there will be only two categories: LBC Master Race and Ride with Friends. Read more about them below. Or find out for yourself when you’re there.

You are warmly welcomed, Pros, Bros and Sis. Pack your boards and spend a day with friends. This is how we keep the passion for snowboarding high - on Saturday, April 3, 2027, in the snowboard heaven of Stuben.

STARTING CATEGORIES

LBC MASTERS (women / men)

Boards 172 cm and longer (women: 162 cm and longer) for pros, experienced riders, and anyone who’s always wanted to give it a try. The top three men and women will receive an official certificate. Arguments and bloody noses in the finish area are the participants’ own business. No rules. Whoever gets to the bottom first, wins.

Ride with friends

No rankings!

Board length, hair color, or annual income don’t matter—only one thing counts: Have fun! Women and men ride together in the following categories:

LBC 60+:

Old-timers among themselves.

LBC Old School:

Boards older than 1990 — or at least ones that look that way. Verification is done exclusively by visual inspection by our legends on site.

LBC No Binding:

No matter the manufacturer—anything goes, as long as it doesn’t have bindings. Surfboards are also allowed.

LBC No School:

Mass start. Friends can arrange their own battles. We enjoy the ride, take as many detours as possible, and never pass up a chance for a quick chat.

LBC Family:

To cap off the event, all families ride together with Muck and Kiwi.
