Last year we thought: this can’t be topped. Then 650 people showed up. The Sweatshirts were sold out at 09.00h, the T-shirts at 10, the caps at 10.15h. The conditions were fantastic: blue skies, 15 degrees, best slush snow.
Due to the breakdown of the 2-seater chairlift, all riders had to walk up to the Albonagrat. This delayed the start a little, but Kiwi and Muck put on a perfect show at the summit. Music, rapping DJs and Laurie on the flute. What more could you ask for? It took almost two hours for all the snowsurfers in the four categories to reach the finish line.
A nice side note is that there are more and more families riding down together at the end of the race. The next generation is being prepared for the race! YEAH!
After the great ranking ceremony Kiwi auctioned the Boerteun board for € 1100 to Michaela Rossi (donation to Skate-Aid). Harry from the Freeride Filmfestival showed us two awesome movies from the FFF program. Afterwards, the Mortal Combat guys featuring uCee heated us up again until the morning.
