Over 700 people celebrated LBC #27 under sunny skies and perfect snow conditions—spring slush included. We were well prepared for the rush. Nevertheless, all T-shirts and merchandise were sold out by mid-morning.
Due to difficult avalanche conditions, the start had to be moved from the Albonaspitze to the safe slope. This resulted in a new, exciting course: past the Albona Restaurant and through the open terrain down to the village.
At the start, Muck and Kiwi, supported by DJ RE MOESLI, put on a cool show. A sound system was brought up the mountain especially for the occasion. Then the race began—and it took over two hours for all participants to cross the finish line.
My personal highlight was the Family category, with over 50 participants of all ages. That’s exactly what the LBC is all about: being out there together and having fun snowboarding.
The Swiss Snowboard Museum presented its exhibition “Craig Kelly – The Boards of a True Legend.” Skate Aid was also on site with a booth.
The BOERTEUN Snowboard LBC #27 raised 750 euros, which will be donated to Titus Dittmann’s Skate Aid project. Many thanks and congratulations to the proud owner, Lena Steininger!
The evening continued, as is tradition, with an exciting selection of films curated by Harry Putz from the Freeride Film Festival (FFF). The Mortal Combat Crew featuring UCee closed out the event—a fitting end to a fantastic day.
